Casa Wyle sits at the edge of the Pacific, a compact white cube nested in a dense garden of columnar cacti and succulents just steps from the sand. Seen from above, the house reads as a small fortification — stacked cubic volumes of smooth white stucco, a rooftop plunge pool catching the sky, and a bamboo-canopied carport tethered to one side — all but swallowed by the botanical garden that surrounds it. Inside, the mood shifts to warm and open: wide bifold doors collapse to merge the living-dining space with a brick-paved pool terrace, and the kitchen is anchored by a backsplash of emerald-green herringbone tile that provides the single bold stroke of color in an otherwise tonal palette of cream, sand, and bleached wood. Ceiling fans turn slowly, jute rugs soften the limestone floors, and every window frames either ocean, cactus, or sky. It is a beach house that refuses to sprawl, concentrating its pleasures into a tight footprint and letting the landscape do the rest.
