Casa M

Casa M is a house of controlled darkness and luminous surprise. Where most residences pursue openness and light, this house draws its power from shadow — deep, quiet interiors where surfaces appear to glow from within. The signature element is an onyx staircase and bar backlit from below, its translucent stone panels radiating a warm amber light that transforms the circulation core into a lantern at the heart of the house. Elsewhere, the material palette is restrained and mineral: honed limestone floors, smooth plaster walls, glass partitions that catch and multiply the few light sources. Bathrooms are carved from blocks of travertine, their surfaces veined and fossil-marked, with floating timber vanities that introduce the only organic warmth. The house treats light not as a given but as a material — something to be shaped, filtered, and revealed in deliberate doses, so that every lit surface feels like a discovery.
